Design is up again

I have finally grown tired of the look of this site and have decided to do some work on changing it. If I ever get time. I have also been bugged constantly over the lack of features my home rolled blogging tool has. I dont have time to work on it and make it better as I am quite busy with finance making contracts. To this end I have decided to look around at some software that already does the things I want. Ray Camdens BlogCFC was first on my list as I see it alot on my daily rounds of CF blogs.

I have set it up on my local machine and got it running very easily. I just have to wait to see if my host will give me easy access to a SQL or mySQL database (The current one runs on access which blogcfc supports but its a matter of principal I don't use access for work why should I do it here?!)

Then there is the question of the amazon and template stuff. Since I only did these for kicks to learn some new things I dont really know if I will keep them. Still I like to be able to add books and stuff to the site so I will build that in. The templates stuff wasnt built right the first time, so I think I will kill it off and rebuild at a later date.

Then there's the photos - I moved these over to flickr some time ago and that's great - so I will do some small tweaking and get the sets listed on here via their API so I don't have to maintain anything. That way I can probably maintain links easier too.

This could well be the end of PHP on this site, and bringing in CF to do it all.
