Apple Nerdy

I have been following Apple and its range of Mac Books for a couple of years now as I have been curious how they are developing and the sudden market uptake between my colleagues and peers in the development world.

If you are looking at a purchase of any Apple product then go and check out the Mac Buyers Guide on macrumours.com. In the 12 months that its been in my book marks I have been watching their predictions, with some interest as my next laptop purchase will be a Mac Book Pro.

The last time I seriously used a Mac was at school, some time ago, with some of the original Mac desktops. I don't even remember what model they were. I remember loving them, more so than the Atari sat next to it, or the long loading tape deck on the Commodore 64.

More recently it has been of interest that you could run Windows virtually using Parallels, and with the Intel chip at its core, even dual boot a Mac now.

I get worried though when a major release of the operating system comes out (in this case Leopard), and most of the experiences I have heard have been fairly bad. Problems with programs, UI issues and performance amongst them. The hardcore Mac users I know are fairly disappointed, and have lost some faith in the renowned Apple quality.

Really, is Apple any better than M$?
